Maxey-Fisher’s Brittany J. Maxey-Fisher was honored to be a panelist at the Practising Law Institute’s Webinar on Managing Digital Assets: Lifetime and Estate Planning. As technology becomes more intertwined with our daily lives, our electronic information, and the way in which we share and store it, make it both a liability and an asset. Ms. Maxey-Fisher spoke on the importance of protecting such assets, like cryptocurrency, information in cloud storage programs, and information on social media sites, including what happens to said assets once someone passes. She also spoke on the liability that comes with digital assets, such as data breaches, breaches by third parties, and risk of libel and slander suits.
